Jump to about 30 minutes in for the actual briefing.

Joy ride has become a kinect launch title, presumably pay for or bundled and no longer free xbla - wonder if its still playable without kinect?
As it clearly is no longer going to be FREE for all Gold Xbox Live members as originally promised. If it is "FREE" still, it will be bundled with the Kinect hardware, or a download code will be.
Doesn't look like it is playable without Kinect, and the gameplay stuff that I saw (haven't clicked your link yet mind) looked slower and much less fun then the footage I saw of joypad joyride. I don't know why anyone would want to control a driving game without a controller, it just looks really awkward.
This is the biggest disapointment of E3 so far! ![]()
For me the biggest question with Kinect is how much interaction it has with the joypad. Microsoft have stated in the past that the two are not mutually exclusive.
Obviously they are showing it as a solo device at trade shows and in advertising, so as not to dilute or confuse the controller free message.
Hopefully they make it a choice for the user to use a joypad or not - some situations may not require one (browsing the dash - minority report style), but others may be preferable with one (Driving games, FPS's). I'm hoping it will bring in the casual gamers who want a wii like experience, and be an addition to the more hardcore.
Looking at the box art it looks like this is kinect only, what a let down.
and what an upgrade, great job! For all your E3'ness be here to find it.
