New to Burnout Revenge?

We have noticed that there are lots of new players online in Burnout Revenge. Are you one of them? Then you should read on as we will give you some really good advice on how to start winning races online!

Burnout Revenge 101

There is much more to Burnout Revenge than mastering the tracks and doing perfect laps at top speed. Start by selecting the best car: The Revenge Racer.

Then there is the Boost Start. Don't know how to do it? Don't worry, here is how to do the boost start in Burnout Revenge

You might wonder how people in the same car as you are flying past you when you are driving at top speed (209 MPH)? Since Burnout 2: Point of Impact it has been possible to do something called drift jumping. In Burnout 3: Takedown the Euro Circuit racer was probably the easiest car to do this with (although not many people knew about it or could do it) and you could get speeds well above 300 MPH.

In Burnout Revenge drift jumping became common knowledge and is probably the reason why this game is still very popular. There is no such thing as a perfect race, you can always do better.

If you want to be able to keep up with the best players in Burnout Revenge you need to learn how to do drift jumping and how to maintain the speed you gain.

Start by reading the following two guides: The art of drift jumping and FrozenVapor's drift jumping guide. When you have mastered the basics you should have a look at Nero Angelo's Guide to Maintaining Speed - Part 1 and Nero Angelo's Guide to Maintaining Speed - Part 2.

We also have some helpful hints on how to get some online achievements:

Rumor - There is new Burnout game in development called Burnout: Rush Hour

According to dualpixels.com a source at Nintendo has revealed a list of games that are being developed for the Wii U eShop, One of the EA titles which is apparently scheduled for the launch of the Wii U is Burnout: Rush Hour.

With the closing of the Revenge server and the loss of the only online arcade racer on current gen consoles we can only hope that this rumor is true and that it is a Burnout game that is going back to its roots!

At the moment we don't know what Criterion is working on. They have been hiring people for a project involving big cities and open world racing (that is what the adverts said). We assumed this would be the next NFS title, but maybe it is actually a new Burnout game?

13 April 2012 R.I.P. Burnout Revenge Online

*****The servers are now back online, long may it stay that way*****

Today we read the shocking, albeit expected news that the Burnout Revenge servers for Xbox 360 will be sunsetted on the 13th of April 2012.

http://www.ea.com/1/service-updates

This is a huge tragedy for the Burnout community, there will be no true Burnout racing games online after this.

To say I am saddened by this news is an understatement, the fact that the date falls on my birthday is also really upsetting.
